Vacancies: Access to HE Diploma Moderators
5th July 2016 Date of publication
We are currently looking to appoint suitably qualified individuals to the role of Diploma Moderator to join our existing team working across Recognised Centres in Yorkshire and the North East and North West of England.
The subjects for which we are recruiting are:
- Art and Design
- Social Work
- Youth Work
- Science
- Engineering and Mathematics
- Computing and Technology
The main role of a Diploma Moderator is to undertake subject moderation and to verify the achievement of units and grades within an Access to HE Diploma. Subject expertise is therefore required for each diploma moderated. Working alongside other Diploma Moderators and a Lead Moderator you will also be required to attend final award boards, standardisation events, and to participate in development sessions and meetings to ensure you are up to date with requirements.
As well as ensuring that Access to HE Diplomas are delivered in accordance with the agreed approval specification and QAA regulations, you will also provide on-going advice to centre staff to ensure continuous improvement. Due to the nature of the post a full driving licence and access to a motor vehicle are required. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Diploma Moderators are engaged on a casual worker contract at a rate of £150 per visit per centre. Travel and other out of pocket expenses are reimbursed along with a fee for attendance at meetings and training. Holiday entitlement, based upon the number of hours that you actually work for One Awards, is pro-rated on the basis of a full-time entitlement of 27 days plus the usual bank holidays. A full induction and regular training and development activities are provided along with on-going line manager and peer support.
Further information, including application paperwork, is available on the vacancies section of our website.
