South Africa Teacher Training Development programme with Funda Trust

Following the recent trade mission to South Africa, One Awards has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Funda Trust to act as their education advisor and accreditation partner for a project to be delivered in South Africa to raise educational standards of teachers and teaching in the rural communities and townships.

Funda Trust is a non-profit organisation registered in the United Kingdom. The organisation’s purpose is to assist with the enhancement of the South African Education system by working with the government to identify areas that need intervention. The Trust has the capability to provide teacher professional and personal development training in core curriculum subjects, physical, and creative education.

Fabienne Bailey Managing Director, at One Awards explained “The agreement with Funda Trust will enable us to engage and empower young people through the development of a pilot Teacher Training programme and to support workforce mobility and progression of South African Teachers”

One Awards visited South Africa in September 2019 as part of the North East Trade Mission with Business Durham and The Department of International Trade and this is just one of the exciting developments as a result of the Trade Mission.
