We are pleased to inform you that the suite of NOCN Level 2 Qualifications in Skills for Employment Training and Personal Development (QCF), Award, Certificate and Diploma are confirmed for funding until 31st July 2017 under the following allocations:

The purpose of these qualifications

The primary purpose of the qualification is to prepare learners for employment or further learning and training and remains a popular choice for delivery by our members in relation to the delivery of:

  • Study Programmes
  • Pre Apprenticeship programmes
  • Traineeships
  • Sector based Routeways
  • Employability Courses
  • Pre Access programmes
  • Progression courses

Unique Flexibility

The qualifications enable learners to combine vocational units in specific, or a range of vocational areas as well as personal development and vocational support with optional Maths and English which support the approach of either direct employment or employment after further study.

The suite of qualifications is very flexible and can be used in a broad range of contexts. The units can be adapted to many vocational situations which will enable learners to develop transferrable employability skills.

This qualification is designed to develop skills that break down barriers to employment. It will enable learner to gain an insight into a vocational area and support them in identifying and selecting an appropriate progression route. The job role will be different dependent on the combination of units.

The qualification comprises 3 Mandatory Sections covering Personal Development, Vocational Support and Literacy and Numeracy and Optional Sections specific to particular vocational areas; Catering, Construction, Creative Skills, Health and Social Care, Horticulture, ICT, Science and Sport and Leisure.

Simple Rules of Combination

6 credits (40-60 GLH) required to achieve an Award, 21 credits (156-181 GLH) required to achieve a Certificate and 37 to achieve the Diploma (279-309 GLH).
