Cumbria Youth Offending and Prevention Service work with vulnerable Young People by engaging them through various Accredited Programmes of Interventions ranging from Emotional Well-Being, Offending Behaviour to Employability Skills.
As a Service they take referrals from the Courts and various other Organisations. The Young People referred to the Programmes work towards a Level 1 programme of learning using the Bespoke Units offered by One Awards. Completing the programme subsequently enhance the Young People’s educational attainment as well as enhancing their knowledge, skills, and employability chances.
The centre developed this Bespoke One Awards unit to meet the needs of our Client Group that are on the verge of Child Exploitation by creating a programme called Safe & Sound.
Simon Day, Lead Intervention Coordinator for Cumbria Youth Offending and Prevention said “The Safe & Sound is a programme for Young Men on what a Healthy Relationship may look like, aspects of Social Behaviour, using Assertive Behaviour and building Skills for Maintaining Emotional Well-being! The programme also looks at self-image, triggers for emotions and Mental Health issues, which in turn, allows the Young Person’s to explore not only what a healthy relationship may look like but also enhances their knowledge of how emotional wellbeing”
