Centre Guidance and Information

Centre Guidance and Information Programme

The Centre Guidance and Information Programme (CGIP) is available to centres that are approved to deliver both NOCN qualifications and/or One Awards units. The programme provides clear and consistent information and consists of facilitated workshops, online and printed resources, including templates and individual support. Attendance at the facilitated Workshops is free to centre recognised organisations.

The purpose of the CGIP is to provide the information that a centre needs to apply for and for the delivery and quality assurance of their approved provision in order that they remain compliant to the requirements of the relevant centre recognition agreement. Further aims include:

  1. Providing up to date information
  2. Identifying positive practice
  3. Offering an opportunity through networking to share this practice
  4. Addressing concerns and queries.

The programme covers the requirements of NOCN qualifications and One Awards Units and the different requirements are always explained in full.

Centre Recognition Workshops

These are designed to provide up to date guidance and information to centres that have recently gained centre recognition to deliver NOCN qualifications and/or One Awards units. It is also suitable for new members of staff within existing centres who wish to understand the requirements of centre recognition.

Practitioner Workshops

These are held for those who are currently involved with either the assessor or internal verifier roles. The workshops are based around a theme including sessions relating to identified qualifications or units. The aims of each session are advertised clearly.

Centres are able to suggest topics that they would like to have included either by contacting the office directly or by speaking with their External Verifier.

Testimonial

Since becoming an approved Centre I have attended several of the Workshops at Peterlee and as a ‘one man band’ virtually, I find them invaluable, the knowledge of the staff delivering the workshops is excellent but alongside that they have a very friendly approach and rapport with those attending, it is also really nice to be able to network with other providers and training centres and to see some of the same people attending the workshops as well, nice to meet up with them again. It makes you feel part of the organisation.

I have recently had contact with One Awards regarding the booking of seminars. Communications in E- mail and telephone calls were excellent.
