One Awards Team moving to virtual office working
24th September 2020 Date of publication
Covid 19 and the lockdown restrictions have impacted many individuals, businesses, communities, and charitable organisations like ourselves and has forced a change to the way we are able to work and connect with our customers. One Awards have been successful in adapting to the new ways of working, using technology better to communicate with each other and our centres.
Recently, our Board undertook a review of the impact of this change to ensure that we can continue to operate effectively and to the same high standards of customer service that we have always upheld. The outcome was very positive and therefore, it has been decided that the team at One Awards will continue to work from home for the foreseeable future whilst we continue to monitor progress and customer satisfaction. This does mean that the office base at Peterlee will close permanently from 30th September 2020.
The impact on centres working with One Awards should be minimum, but it will result in a change in some operational aspects of our service that we need to make you aware of:

Quality Assurance
Now we find ourselves in a new academic year we wanted to thank our centres for your hard work in supporting your learners through the challenging months since March and, where required, implementing the Centre Assessment and Calculated Grades process over the summer. It was a big, complicated and critical task that no one had ever done before. Working remotely and with some centres closed or staff on furlough made this task all the more challenging. However, the majority of results were confirmed by the Ofqual deadlines and, where there are some outstanding, we continue to work together to ensure achievements are claimed.
2020-21 presents a raft of new challenges for us all but we will continue to support centres through flexible and adapted External Quality processes to ensure that all learners enrolling on courses have the best experience possible, achieve their results and progress to their intended destination. All external quality activities will be completed remotely until 31st December, after which we will review our policy in line with government guidance. If, however there are reasons why a face-to-face visit is required, EQAs and Moderators will liaise with you and the One Awards Quality team to discuss the best arrangements, ensuring all activities are undertaken safely. Your EQA /Moderators will be in touch with you soon to discuss plans for the year ahead and the adaptations you are making to support your learners, but if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to call us on the usual number or email us:

Whilst we are still in a transition to our new way of working, our usual certification service standards may be affected meaning that the turnaround time may take slightly longer than normal. We will always give you a clear indication of our expected production time upon request. We expect to return to normal service standards next month. We thank you for your patience at this time.
