New Chair of Trustees for One Awards

David Balme has been appointed as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees for One Awards and takes up his post this month from outgoing Chair, Peter Stonell who has been a Trustee since 2015 and led the board from 2017.
On stepping down Peter (pictured right) said "Now is the time for me to stand down from my role as the Chair of the One Awards Board. I have been a One Awards Trustee for many years now and I have been proud to be involved with this amazing charity, helping to shape their charitable objectives in supporting people to develop in life and work through education and skills. I have enjoyed seeing the organisation grow as part of NOCN Group and will continue to promote the fantastic role that Access to Higher Education plays in transforming people's lives. I have worked alongside the new Chair on the Board for the past year and I am confident in handing over the role to David who comes with a wealth of experience in the sector. Good luck to everyone - keep up the good work!"

David Balme (pictured left), Executive Director of Governance, Assurance and Risk at NCG who has been a member of the Board of Trustees since September 2018, has worked in the Education Sector for over fifteen years in both Further and Higher Education. In his current role he has executive responsibility for Governance Compliance, Assurance, Risk, Information Governance and the HE registry.
He says "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to become the Chair of the One Awards Board and to be able to support the high calibre team of staff and trustees in their quest to continue to deliver life enhancing opportunities to learners during these most challenging of times".
